Please stop the slaughter of our horses in NYS!
We urgently need you to make one phone call today to
your New York State Assemblymember to help pass Assembly Bill A.4154B to END
the horrific slaughter of horses forced to run on racetracks and bred for the
purposes of racing. Bill A.4154B, sponsored by Assembly Member Gary Pretlow,
would require that horses used for racing be microchipped and would allocate
funding through tax returns for the lifelong care of retired Thoroughbred
horses. The bill needs to pass THIS WEEK in the Assembly, so each call makes a
big difference! This bill has already PASSED in the NY State Senate. Make one
phone call today to pass it in the Assembly so it can be enacted into law!
Thousands of Thoroughbred horses are sent to slaughter
by the horse racing industry every year. NY Assembly Bill A.4154B would STOP
this slaughter - and would prohibit the import, export, sale, or transport of
the horses with the intent of slaughtering them or having a third-party
slaughter them. After all the exploitation
and suffering these horses already endure on tracks, the least we can do is
ensure that they have a humane retirement and don't end up at a slaughterhouse.
