Help Save Mino Valley Sanctuary!

This devoted animal sanctuary needs our help to keep thier land and home
The link to the Go for me fund is below the picture, no amount is to small, it all helps! Thank you all!!

Here's the touching story from the owners:

My name is Abigail Geer and I’m the founder of Mino Valley Sanctuary in Spain which is home to nearly 200 animals who have been rescued from horrific abuse and cruelty.

WE URGENTLY NEED YOUR HELP
The land that the sanctuary is on is up for sale and our only option is to buy it so that we don’t lose our home and everything we’ve worked so hard to build over the last five years.

We only have 90 days to raise the money to buy the land the sanctuary is on or we will lose everything and all the animals who live here will be homeless.

Me and my husband Mikey live in a little wooden cabin with no sink and a leaking roof. We don't have our own electricity or water source on site. We desperately need help but right now we don’t have anywhere for volunteers to stay. And we don’t have any proper storage facilities. But buying this land could change all that! We could finally get all the things that we so desperately need but have never had the chance to have.

THIS IS HOW IT ALL STARTED...

8 years ago we left our lives in the UK and moved to the middle of nowhere in the valleys of northern Spain. We used what little we had to start a new life. There was no electricity. No bathroom. No running water. Nothing. We lived in yurts and teepees in the beginning and then built a little wooden cabin for 2000 euros. It had no sink or shower. And it was far from perfect. But it was our home. A home we built with our own two hands.

We never planned on starting a sanctuary but when we saw so much horrifying animal cruelty going on all around us we couldn’t stand by and do nothing. There were so many animals suffering with nobody to help them and we couldn’t bear the thought of them dying alone and in pain.

We rescued our first sheep Mara, who was crippled and left to die on a dirt track. We got her the medical care she needed and helped her walk again but she was old and weak and a month later her body just shut down. I held her in my arms as she passed away.  Mara was the first sheep I ever loved. Meeting her changed everything for me. I knew that I had to do everything I could to help these animals.

5 years later and we’ve rescued hundreds of animals just like Mara - from what I can only describe as hell on earth. The places I have been and the things I have witnessed keep me up at night. But seeing animals like Gandalf, who was locked in a filthy pit without ever seeing the sunlight, and Faith, who was going to be slaughtered after being used for work for 28 years, experience love and kindness for the first time in their life makes it all worthwhile.

Mino Valley Sanctuary started out of that little wooden cabin and we still live there today. But now the roof leaks and the walls inside are damaged, and we have to use plastic sheeting to stop it from getting worse.

We planned on building a new home for ourselves but last spring we got a call about 15 goats who had been locked in a farm and left to starve to death. They were found barely alive lying on the floor in piles of dead bodies. How could we say no? We built them an emergency shelter and quarantine pen and brought them here where they could finally get the love and care they desperately needed. For me and Mikey, the animals will always come first.

WHY DOES ANY OF THIS MATTER?

When I found out the land the sanctuary was built on was up for sale I didn’t know what we were going to do. I am so scared about losing everything we have worked so hard for. I am so scared for the animals. We have sacrificed everything to get where we are today.

It’s not easy for me to ask for help, but we honestly can’t do this on our own. I truly hope that after hearing our story you will feel that our sanctuary, our mission and all the animals that live here are worth saving.

With this purchase we can expand and grow the sanctuary and save hundreds more animals! We’ll have 50 more acres of magical forests, peaceful streams and beautiful wild meadows that the animals can call their own.
We urgently need to raise the money to buy the land before it is sold to someone else and we lose everything. We’ve put every last cent of our savings into a down payment but we only have 90 days to raise the rest. It is no exaggeration when I say that we desperately need your help.

The land that we will be buying also comes with numerous buildings that can be renovated into caretaker facilities, volunteer accommodation, an animal hospital, and barns and stables for housing and storage. All things we need but haven’t had the opportunity to have until now. Mino Valley Sanctuary will be able to grow from strength to strength and our animals will have everything they need in the one place.

Please make a donation today and share this campaign with your friends and family so we can reach this goal for the animals. We've come so far already...
